Can the music run late at a Las Cruces venue?
It depends on the venue and the permit. The city noise code treats loud sound heard 30 or more feet away as evidence of a violation. The police can grant a short-term permit for amplified sound. In Mesilla, the town can limit how loud music gets at special events. Ask your venue when sound has to end, and we will set speakers and volume to fit.
How do you handle summer heat and monsoon storms?
We plan for both. Las Cruces averages about nine days a year at 100 degrees or more, mostly in June and July. More than half the year's rain falls from July through September, often in short, heavy storms. For outdoor setups we ask for shade, keep the gear covered and agree on a dry backup spot. For a summer quince or reunion, an evening start or an indoor ballroom is easier on guests.
Is spring wind a problem at outdoor venues?
It can be. Late winter and spring are the windiest times of year in Las Cruces, and strong winds can blow dust and sand when it is dry. Gusts can also kick up dust just before a summer storm. On a winery lawn or a rooftop terrace, we weight speaker stands, put windscreens on mics and cover the gear. We also ask the venue where the DJ can move if the wind picks up.
Can you DJ and MC a quinceañera in Las Cruces?
Yes. Send us your list for the entrance, the waltz and the rest of the night, and we play the songs you choose. The DJ also MCs, so the court entrance, toasts and cake stay on schedule. Several Las Cruces venues host quinces, including the Las Cruces Convention Center and Grapevine Plaza. A photobooth or cold sparks can add a big moment if your venue allows them.
How much does a DJ in Las Cruces cost?
