Cocktails come first, so the music sits low and lets people find each other. Gala dinner music stays soft enough that no one leans in to hear. When the program starts, every speech, honoree moment and tribute video gets a clean cue and a mic that works.

Then the room turns. Tables clear, the lights change, and your gala DJ opens a dance floor that people in gowns and tuxedos actually use. We read the floor live and follow your must-play and do-not-play lists, so the night ends the way you planned it.

    Twenty minutes on your date, venue and program. You get availability and a flat quote within 24 hours.

  2. The run of show

    We build the evening hour by hour with your planner: every speech, honoree, video cue and the moment dancing begins.

  3. The walkthrough

    We visit or study the ballroom, map power and speaker spots, and plan mics for the podium, the stage and video playback.

  4. The gala

    We load in early and sound check before guests arrive. Then the MC keeps the program on time and the floor opens on cue.

How much does a gala DJ cost?

Every gala gets a flat quote after a twenty-minute first call. The price depends on your date, venue, event length, how many rooms need sound, and add-ons like lighting, A/V for videos, a photobooth or cold sparks. You get availability and the quote within 24 hours.

What are good gala entertainment ideas?

Start with the flow of the night: soft music for cocktails and dinner, a polished program, then a dance floor. From there, add what fits your crowd. Event lighting can change the room for each part of the evening. A photobooth gives guests in formal wear a photo to take home. Cold sparks can open the dance floor.

Can the DJ also be the MC for our gala program?

Yes. Your DJ is also your MC. We welcome guests, call the room to dinner, introduce speakers and honorees, and cue each video. We work from your script and keep the program on time. If you have a live auction, we hand the mic to your auctioneer.

How loud is the music during a gala dinner?

Low enough to talk over without raising your voice. During cocktails and dinner the music sits under the conversation, and we adjust it as the room fills. The volume only comes up when the program ends and the dance floor opens.

Can you play tribute videos and run the podium mics?

Yes, through our Audio / Visual service. We plan the podium mic, handheld mics, screens and video playback during the walkthrough. Then we test every cue at sound check before guests arrive. Spare microphones and a second mixer come to every event.

What music does a DJ play at a black-tie gala?

It depends on your guests. We might start with jazz or soul for cocktails if it fits the crowd, and keep dinner mellow. Once the floor opens we play open format and read the room live. Your must-play and do-not-play lists are honored all night.
