Albuquerque sits at 5,312 feet. Spring is the windy season, and April is the windiest month. Summer monsoon storms can build from mid-June through September. For patio and lawn events we weight speaker stands, cover mics and plan a dry spot for the gear.
City noise permits for amplified sound are free, but they only cover 7 a.m. to midnight. Some venues end sooner, like the Albuquerque Museum at 10 p.m. Special effects need Fire Marshal review, and city open space stays under Stage I fire rules.

Yes, if the date is still open. Balloon Fiesta runs for nine days each October, and it is the busiest week of the year for Albuquerque hotels. If guests are flying in, book their rooms and your DJ early. We send availability and a quote within 24 hours, so you can hold the date quickly.
Do we need a noise permit for an outdoor party?
It depends on the site. Inside Albuquerque city limits, sound limits drop at 10 p.m. in residential areas. The city offers free temporary noise permits for events with amplified sound, like DJs, but only between 7 a.m. and midnight. You apply online through ABQ-PLAN, and requests sent by 4 p.m. are processed the next business day. Rio Rancho, Corrales and other towns set their own rules, and your venue may have its own end time.
Can you use cold sparks at an Albuquerque venue?
Often, but not everywhere. The Albuquerque Fire Marshal's Office reviews special effects, and a venue can say no. Fire restrictions also apply on city open space and in the Sandia Ranger District of the national forest. We check with your venue before effects go into the plan. If they are not allowed, event lighting can still give the big moment a lift.
How do you handle wind and monsoon storms?
Spring is the windy season here, and April is the windiest month. Monsoon storms can roll in on summer afternoons from mid-June through September. For patios and lawns we weight stands, put windscreens on mics and ask the venue for a covered backup spot. Spare speakers, mics and a second mixer also come to every event.
Do you play quinceañeras and cultural celebrations?
Yes. Send us your must-play list, the songs for special dances and any traditions on the program. We build the set around them and MC the announcements and timeline. Your do-not-play list is honored too. Venues such as the National Hispanic Cultural Center and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center rent space for private celebrations.
