Houston's air is humid all year, with average humidity near 90% at dawn. June is the wettest month, and hurricane season runs from June through November. Outdoor setups get covered gear, dry cable runs and an indoor fallback agreed with the venue before the day.
Houston has no zoning, so a party venue can sit next to homes. Without a permit, the city caps sound near homes at 65 decibels until 10 p.m., measured at the neighbor's property line. Effects may need a fire permit, so we ask your venue and the fire marshal before promising cold sparks.

What if a tropical storm threatens our event date?
Hurricane season runs from June through November, and June is Houston's wettest month on average. For outdoor events in those months, we agree on a covered spot and an indoor fallback with your venue early. We watch the forecast in the days before your event and stay in touch with you and your planner. If the venue moves your event inside, the sound and lighting move with it.
How do Houston noise rules affect an outdoor party?
Houston has no zoning, so many venues sit close to homes. Without a permit, sound near homes is capped at 65 decibels until 10 p.m. and 58 decibels after that, measured at the neighbor's property line. A city amplified sound permit allows up to 75 decibels during set hours. Ask your venue whether it holds one. We set the volume to the limit that applies, and many venues add their own curfews too.
Can you add cold sparks at a Houston venue?
Sometimes. The Houston Fire Marshal requires a permit for pyrotechnic special effects. In unincorporated Harris County, the effects permit covers any product that makes heat, sparks, flames or smoke to entertain an audience. Rules differ by city and by venue. We check with your venue and the fire marshal before we promise an effect. If the answer is no, uplighting and moving lights can still make a grand entrance feel big.
Can you play music for our culture and languages?
Yes. Houston is often called the most diverse major city in the U.S., and events here mix many traditions. Send your must-play and do-not-play lists in any language. Tell us about key moments, like a quinceañera waltz, a sangeet dance or a family grand entrance. The DJ reads the floor live and blends your list into open-format sets, so every generation in the room has songs to dance to.
